Technical Description

The 2023 Tormach 1100MX is a 3-axis compact vertical machining center representing the premium configuration of the Tormach 1100-series platform. The 1100MX upgrades from the R8 spindle taper found on the 1100M to a BT30 taper, enabling compatibility with Tormach's automatic tool changer system for fully automated tool changes. The machine delivers 2 HP continuous spindle power with a maximum speed of 7,500 RPM. The work table measures 34" x 9.5" and the machine provides axis travels of 18.0" in X, 11.0" in Y, and 16.25" in Z. The PathPilot CNC control provides a touchscreen operator interface with G-code and conversational programming support, tool path simulation, and intuitive setup workflows. Machine weight is approximately 1,850 lbs including the ATC system; the overall footprint is 69" x 56.5" with a height of 96". As a light-duty hobbyist and educational VMC, the 1100MX is suited to prototype machining and short-run production in aluminum, plastics, brass, and mild steel.
