A+Technical Description
The 2022 Mazak FJV-50/80 is a 3-axis double-column vertical machining center from Yamazaki Mazak's FJV series, designed for machining very large and heavy workpieces with exceptional rigidity. The fixed bridge column with wide-spaced guideway system provides superior resistance to cutting forces across the full work envelope. The worktable measures 2,244 x 997 mm (88.3" x 39.3") and supports a maximum workpiece load of approximately 5,000 kg (11,000 lbs), with the column passage at 1,226 mm (48.3") between uprights. Axis travels are 2,057 mm (81.0") in X, 1,146 mm (45.1") in Y, and 585 mm (23.0") in Z. The No. 50 (CAT-50) spindle taper operates up to 6,000 RPM with a motor rated at approximately 35 HP (30 kW), delivering high torque for heavy cutting of steel, cast iron, and large aluminum components. The CNC is the Mazatrol Smooth, Mazak's advanced conversational and EIA/ISO platform with high-speed contouring, rigid tapping, tool path simulation, and integrated thermal compensation. Machine weight is approximately 18,090 kg (39,880 lbs). The FJV-50/80 targets aerospace, energy sector, die/mold, and heavy equipment manufacturers requiring a wide, deep work envelope with bridge-column structural integrity.
