The 2010 SAMSUNG MCV850 is a 3-axis large-format vertical machining center from Korean manufacturer Samsung Machine Tools, designed for high-volume heavy-duty milling, boring, and drilling of large industrial components. The 80" x 33" worktable provides a very large work surface for major castings, weldments, and structural parts, with box-way construction providing the rigidity required for heavy-duty cutting. Axis travels of 78" in X, 33" in Y, and 31" in Z deliver an expansive 3-axis cutting envelope. The No. 50 taper (CAT50) two-gear range headstock provides high torque at up to 6,000 RPM with a maximum torque of 566 ft-lb suited to aggressive roughing in steel and cast iron. The machine is controlled by a Fanuc 0i-MD CNC with through-spindle coolant as standard. A 40-tool ATC supports complex multi-operation setups for large-part machining sequences. The MCV850 is well-suited to energy equipment, heavy dies, large structural tooling, and industrial component manufacturing requiring a large-format 3-axis platform.
